Hypertension Complications

There are many complications that a person may experience when they have hypertension. One of the most common complications that a person may experience with hypertension, or high blood pressure, is the arteries may become hardened. When fatty tissue accumulates along the inner walls of the arteries throughout the body, this is referred to as hardening of the arteries. A common issue that may occur as a result of the hardening of the arteries is that the tissue within the arteries may break away and/or rupture and cause a blood clot to develop.

When a person experiences hypertension, they may experience an aneurysm within the main artery in the body. This particular artery will expand as a result of the deposits of fat that are located within them. If the main artery expands too much and it bursts, it can be extremely dangerous. This may happen within vital organs, such as the heart, the kidneys, and even in the abdomen.

When a person experiences hypertension, they may experience the complication of heart failure. This occurs when arteries surrounding the heart become hardened and the heart is unable to pump blood as it should. As a result, the heart fails. This is most common in the left side of the heart. It is referred to as the Hypertrophy of the left ventricular.

People who experience hypertension may experience complications with their mind. These complications may result in impaired thinking abilities, and problems remembering things. People with hypertension may experience a stroke. When the blood flow in the area of the brain is cut off, a person may experience a stroke. When this happens, that part of the brain may experience damage that is irreversible. When a person has high blood pressure, or hypertension, their chances of having a stroke are multiplied drastically.

When a person has hypertension, it is essential that they see their doctor and follow the orders that they are given. Most of the time, a person will receive medication to assist in lowering their blood pressure. In addition to this, a person may be put on a diet of foods that have been found to reduce the complications of high blood pressure. The doctor may also inform you to perform various types of exercises in order to help increase the blood flow in your body and reduce high blood pressure.

If you are informed that you have high blood pressure, it is important that you follow all of the instructions of the doctor. This will help reduce your blood pressure to a normal level, and it will help to ensure that you are healthy. If you take your medication, reduce bad habits like smoking; eat a healthy regime of foods, and exercise, your high blood pressure issues should reside.
